How is the repair of holes from birds carried out?

1. Thorough inspection of damage: At the beginning of any repair, a thorough inspection of the damage site is required. It often happens that only a small hole is visible, but under the surface there may be a larger cavity where the birds have gnawed polystyrene.
2. Expansion of holes and repair of insulation: To ensure a quality repair, we first increase the hole to the required size in order to thoroughly repair even hidden damage under the plaster. Then we fill it with new polystyrene, which we cut on the spot to the exact size.
3. Application of mounting foam and glue: The filled hole is then sealed with mounting foam, which will ensure the stability and strength of the repaired place. We apply facade glue and mesh to the surface, which serve as a protective layer and prepare the surface for applying plaster.
4. Color matching of plaster: We mix the plaster to a shade that matches the original appearance of the facade as much as possible. Although it is not always possible to hit a completely accurate shade due to the wear and soiling of the original plaster, we try to make the difference minimal and as little noticeable as possible.
5. Application of protective layer: In conclusion, we apply a special protective layer, which will ensure long-term weather resistance of the repair.

Our Technique

We carry out the work either with a climbing technique, where we run on a rope directly to the place of damage, or with a platform, which also allows us to access the higher parts of the facade.

3. Hidden damage- A small hole on the surface can hide extensive damage under the plaster.
